OPINION: Why Turkey can’t abandon Idlib
One thing is clear though, the Syrian civil war is not over, and it is Turkey’s Vietnam
PA Intelligence has recently devoted a lot of print space to the Idlib Crisis, because it sit at the crossroads between politics, economy and markets. The current TL weakness, for example is largely inspired by the Idlib Crisis. In this video Atilla Yesilada explains the loss of Idlib would mean 500K to a million new Syrian refugees for Turkey, which neither the welfare budget, nor the society can afford. He also suggests solutions going forward. One thing is clear though, the Syrian civil war is not over, and it is Turkey’s Vietnam.
